As this series has become a way to mark the seasons, I wanted to make a Yule-time quilt to keep me cozy through the winter. The color choices here show a glowing warmth surrounding blue, blooming shapes striking a balance between extremes like a blazing fire on a cold night.

The Process of Placing

These white line woodblock paintings are a masterclass in patience, presence, and pacing. I cannot rush the actions, nor can I dawdle. To work on these pieces really is a moving meditation, and I think that sense of peace and centeredness comes across in the work.
